Benefits of Float Therapy

Research shows the many health benefits of float therapy, sensory deprivation therapy, or REST (restricted environmental stimulation therapy). The first float tanks were created by a neuroscientist in the 1950s with the intention to study human consciousness by limiting exposure to external stimulus. By the 1970s research started to expand on the health benefits of flotation therapy. Today there are many studies that support the use of this type of therapy in a wide variety of conditions. There are reports that float therapy can even increase creativity, focus, and concentration and promote better sleep and relaxation.
